Hey friends, I told you about Ma Kalratri yesterday. Today I will tell you the story of Ma Katyayni. But, first I will tell you what happened to Dugamasur after he rejected Ma Kalratri's advice. You already know that Durgamasur was the king of all three worlds. Seeing Durgamasur's wrath the Devas were worried. They went to Devi Parvati for a solution. She told them to ask rishi or sage Katyan to perform a Yaga. 

From that Yaga rose Devi Durga. Lord Visnu gave Sudarshan Chakra and sankh(an instrument) to Devi Durga. Surya dev gave bow and arrow. Indradevgave bajra(an instrument that causes lightning). Bramha dev gave the jap mala and a kamandal. Mahadev gave his trishul. Then Devi Katyani or Durga killed Durgamasur and saved all three worlds. So you guys know what weapons Ma Katyayani has. She rides on a lion.
